Considering that Fleetwood Mac has been around for quite a while, they have released plenty of music. In fact, they’ve released 18 studio albums, 9 live albums, 23 compilation albums, and 62 singles. Because this is a lot of material to cover, I decided to focus only on their 18 studio albums. In order to create my data visualization, I collected the total Spotify and Youtube streams every song on each album earned. In hindsight, my visualization only ended up focusing on the Spotify streams factor. I was able to collect this information through data presented on Chart Masters and filled the gaps with my own research. I also totaled these streams to get an understanding of which albums were competitive with one another. After completing this research, I decided to add another column: who wrote each song. I was able to collect this data by going on Spotify and looking at the song credits for each individual track. As seen to the left, I stored all of this data on Excel, and while I haven’t displayed all of my collected data, it can be seen that 237 lines of statistics were recorded. This, by far, was the most time consuming aspect of the project.
